Today we are stoked to announce USDT Swaps - connecting Bitcoin to the world's most used stablecoin. Swap between Lightning and USDT on all major networks, without custody, accounts, or KYC! 🚀
Nice, I tried. LN to USDT worked fine. I gave up on the other direction after 5 tries. I got insufficient funds all the time. I think the UI needs to be improved. It's hard to guess the maximum sats to enter into the invoice. I want a "max" button to click and be able to provide an invoice without amount. Hard to understand the fees in the UI.
I didn't think it would support bolt12 but again nice surprise! I now tried a bolt12 as well but failed again. I realized it required more ETH for gas on Optimism. It said "not enough funds" - a bit cryptic. I actually already had enough for one transaction. The earlier transfer from LN->Optimism took a few seconds but now from Op->LN, it got stuck in layer zero bridging for 14 minutes? Why the difference? Well, I got back my sats eventually minus fee (1 USD?).
So, is it trustless and atomic? Probably, but how can I know? For example, on the EVM side, I send USDT to an unknown address. Can I trust it? Maybe the user interface should be more assuring in some way, more info maybe about what happens below the surface. Can I be fooled by a hacked user interface?

That's awesome feedback, precisely what we are looking for as part of launching this in Beta. Working on it 🫡
> provide an invoice without amount
That's the only thing we can't do. Reason: https://support.boltz.exchange/hc/center/articles/1745247555-why-can-t-i-use-lightning-invoices-without-amount-zero-amount-with-boltz

Finally. I've always thought tBTC was a better idea than wBTC, and seeing it integrated in a useful way to lightning is amazing
Absolutely! Finally, anyone can mint and unmint! Today WBTC still has the network effect and liquidity, but things are changing.
